Recently, Webflow added a new tool to its interface, Flexbox Gap. It lets you add vertical and horizontal spacing between the elements of a flexbox.
What about grids?
Grids distribute space evenly between all elements. They also let you adapt those elements to each device by adding or removing columns.
So will Flexbox Gap replace grids?
How do you use Flexbox and Flexbox Gap?
Today, there are 2 ways to use Flexbox to speed up development or limit the stacking of elements in the DOM:
- Change the margin and direction of the <div> in the Client-First development methodology.
- Replace a grid with a Flexbox, then handle the mobile responsive layout vertically or horizontally.
For someone new to Webflow, Flexbox is easier to get to grips with than a grid. It is a plus for Webflow, which now covers 100% of web design needs.
