Introduction
On November 17 and 18, Webflow held its highly anticipated No-Code Conf. Many big names from the no-code scene attended. The event opened with an Apple-worthy keynote devoted to Webflow's announcements and its new features. Here is what to remember.
Memberships built right into Webflow
This was probably the announcement the Webflow community was waiting for most. With Memberships, you will be able to create member areas natively in Webflow, without third-party tools like Memberstack or Outseta.
This new feature will also let you add paid subscriptions to a site, which is very good news.
Better Webflow CMS performance
This is another important announcement, because the Webflow CMS is very complete and already lets you build very ambitious websites.
Webflow has upgraded its data architecture, which brings:
- projects that load up to 15 times faster,
- 6 times less browser memory used,
- 86 times less bandwidth needed to load.
Webflow was already very convincing in terms of interface and performance. With this upgrade, the tool becomes even faster.
New CSS features for even more design-driven websites
Webflow adds the CSS properties "backdrop filters" and "blending mode" to create even more visually striking sites.
"Backdrop filters" let you create blur and color-shift effects in the area behind an element. They bring the CSS backdrop-filter property directly into Webflow.
"Blending mode" lets you control how stacked elements blend together, through the CSS mix-blend-mode property.
A redesigned collaborative space
Webflow announced Workspaces, with fully rethought roles and permissions. Working as a team and growing your team will be simpler.
The official launch of the Audit panel
The Audit panel, which lets you quickly see the issues to fix on your site, is now officially launched. It makes building accessible websites easier.
The biggest surprise of this No-Code Conf, the new Logic feature
The announcement made waves at the No-Code Conf. Webflow is launching a new feature called "Logic", which will let you define workflows and set up custom automations, much like Zapier or Integromat.
Conclusion
During this presentation, Webflow stressed the importance of 3 pillars:
- the user interface (the Designer),
- data (CMS, ecommerce, memberships),
- logic (building custom workflows based on actions and conditions).
By bringing these 3 elements together, Webflow becomes a truly integrated development platform where you can build a very complete website in one place.
